Mrs. Marlene Chandler is a native of Bertrandville, Louisiana. Before teaming-up with Belle Reve New Orleans, as the Building Manager for the Dr. Everett & Elva Williams Building, Marlene was employed with Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans, for over twenty years. She was a Mental Health Case Manager, in collaboration with Unity for the Homeless of the Greater New Orleans Outreach Program. In addition, she coordinated the PATH Homeless Grant Program, to help reduce homelessness. Marlene also has extensive experience in working with individuals that have intellectual disabilities. Marlene currently has a Degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Instructor with the American Heart Association.
Marlene has an unwavering passion and is a strong advocate for comprehensive services for people in need.
When she is not serving in the social service arena, she is serving at her church, St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, as the Pastor’s Assistant and Coordinator of the Youth Department.
However, the ultimate “serve” comes when she is serving “aces” on the tennis court. She is a member of the United State Tennis Association (USTA), in the over 4o League, on the Wednesday Nite Women’s League and Thursday Nite Tennis (TNT) League. Marlene also enjoys home improvement projects.
Marlene’s greatest desire is to see her youngest son and her grandchildren graduate college and build a family.
